Dr. Emily Elliot, ND graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2016. She has successfully passed all required board examinations and is registered to practice in Ontario. She is a member of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario. Emily brings a heart- centered approach to care with a focus on stress management in our busy world. Emily is a member of the OAND & CAND professional associations.
About Dr. Emily Elliot
I arrived at the doorstep of Naturopathic Medicine about 10 years ago after experiencing chronic sinusitis (translation – clogged up and inflamed sinuses!) as well as uncontrolled asthma. I remember my frustration vividly. At that point, I wasn’t sleeping well because I couldn’t breathe well, I wasn’t eating because I couldn’t taste and I certainly wasn’t exercising. I couldn’t believe how much body chaos had ensued so quickly making me feel exhausted all the time and ultimately, affecting my mood. I had also been put on round after round after round of antibiotics, which was brewing up all sorts of unpleasant side effects in my stomach and still not relieving the congestion and infection in my sinuses.
Fast forward to my first visit with a naturopath and that subsequent feeling that my health was back in my control. I felt so empowered and ready to make even more changes. I didn’t know that my diet was considered ‘acidic’ – (where does one learn these things in life?) and happily started choosing foods that were more alkaline. My fascination with health was ignited.
While I started my career in marketing and public relations, I couldn’t ignore that nagging feeling that I was meant to be in a healing profession. Some say that you don’t find a healing profession, that it finds you. Four years later (and lots of late study nights!), I graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in May of 2016 so grateful for everything I have learned.
In my spare time, I am a yoga teacher, avid reader and lover of country music. I enjoy spending time experimenting in the kitchen and am particularly passionate about finding healthy spins on the delicious ‘classics’ (pad thai, lasagna, pasta).
